Michael Holley

Naugatuck, CT. - Mr. Michael J. Holley, age 47, of Naugatuck, died Sunday March 7,2010, at his home.
Mr. Holley was born in Inglewood, California on August 29,1962 a son of John S. and Ruth (Durette) Holley Jr. of Naugatuck, formerly of Prospect. He graduated from Holy Cross High School in Waterbury in 1980. He earned an Associates Degree in Forest Technology from Unity College in Maine in 1983. He graduated with distinction from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science Degre in Forestry in 1985. He made Dean's List from 1980 - 1985. After graduating from college, Michael was employed as a Horticulture Specialist for Chemlawn for many years. Michael volunteered his time for the Prospect Land Trust, St. Anthony's Church and services for the elderly.
Besides his parents, Mr. Holley is survived by three brothers: James S. Holley of Naugatuck, Jeffrey J. Holley and his wife Anne O. Holley of Cheshire, and Mark E. Holley and his wife Shelley of Southington, his sister and brother-in-law: Christine Holley and Robert Schaff of Midletown and six nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday March 13,2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church 4 Union City Rd. Prospect, Ct. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 26 Waterbury Rd. Route 69 Prospect on Friday March 12,2010 from 6 to 8 p.m.
