WOODBRIDGE- Mr. Harry W. Arendholz, 81, of 6 Robert St. Woodbridge and a former Naugatuck resident, died Friday May 15, 2009 at his home. He was the husband of the late Rosemary (Flaherty) Arendholz who died in 1992 and the late Marion (Paolucci) Arendholz, who died in 2005.

Mr. Arendholz was born in Naugatuck, Mar. 23, 1928, a son of the late Harry W. and Theodosia (Benson) Arendholz and had been a Naugatuck resident for most of his life, moving to Woodbridge a year and a half ago. He was educated in the Naugatuck school system and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II., serving as a Seaman 2nd Class. He retired in 1991 from Uniroyal- Chemical Division after 42 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, a member of Naugatuck Lodge # 967, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and Crusader Post # 1946, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Naugatuck..

He leaves two sons, Matthew Arendholz and his wife Lynn of Guilford and Jeffery Arendholz and his wife Nancy of Killington; one daughter Holly Porter and her husband Gerald of Woodbridge, with whom he made his home; one nephew, Leo Roberts of Naugatuck and one granddaughter, Emma Claire Arendholz. He was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Douglas Arendholz and a sister, Madeline Roberts.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 21, 2009 at 10 am at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial with full military honors, will follow in East Side Cemetery, Woodbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 am until the time of the service.
