WATERBURY- H. Christine Pierpont, 84, a lifelong Waterbury resident passed away Saturday, February 7, 2021 in the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of William “Bill” Pierpont who she was married to for 61 years.
Mrs. Pierpont was born March 17, 1936 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Thorsten H. and Agnes (Larson) Carlson.
Christine graduated from Wilby High School Class of 1954 and the Nursing Class of 1957 at Waterbury Hospital. She worked in the operating room at Waterbury Hospital for a few years until she left to raise her family. Upon her return to work she was also employed at Roncolli Rest Home, Century Brass East Hospital, Dr. Edwin Moore, and Opticare in the operating room. Christine was a lifelong member of Mill Plain Union Church, where she was a former member of the Ladies Aid.
Chris was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will always be remembered for being meticulous around her residence, great cooking, and a good neighbor.
Besides her husband Bill she is survived by her son Douglas and his wife Lisa Pierpont of Denver, CO; daughter Nancy and her husband Dan Barbaris of Oxford; grandchildren Lizzy and Spencer Pierpont, and Matthew and Kristen Barbaris. Mrs. Pierpont was predeceased by her brother Harold Carlson.
A graveside service for Mrs. Pierpont will be held in New Pine Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave, 06704 is assisting the family with the arrangements.
