Beacon Falls - Gregory A. Pederson, 74, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was the loving, devoted husband of Pamela (Ripley) Pederson.
Greg was born October 20, 1951, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Robert and Gloria (Swanson) Pederson.
He attended WPI and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Right out of college he worked with his father, painting houses, until he secured a job with Texaco Research Center in Fishkill, N.Y. He worked there for 17 years until his company downsized. He took some time to assist in the care of his mother-in-law before landing another job at SVG Lithography which later became ASML. After moving to CT to be closer to their daughter, Greg established a painting business of his own and then finally retired so that he could assist his wife in caring for their grandchildren.
Greg enjoyed golfing with his brothers and friends, playing card games, being at the beach or lake, spending time with friends and family, and listening to or playing music. He taught himself how to play the guitar when he was a teenager and that followed him throughout his life. He performed at open-mics, weddings, in church services, at church events, and at family and friend gatherings. He loved to play the guitar and that love of the guitar has started to trickle down to his grandchildren.
Greg was kind, generous, and helpful in any way that he could be. He lived a life of faith, compassion, and integrity. He was sometimes referred to as a quiet giant. While he did not always talk a lot, he certainly had a way of expressing himself through song. He formed a small band with some other fathers in the late 90’s and sang in the choirs of each of the churches he attended. In general, he sang mostly cover songs, but the few originals he did write truly expressed his love and admiration for his wife.
Besides his wife of 44 years, he is survived by his daughter, Rachel Saunders, her husband, Phillip, and their children, Gloria and Gabriel. He is also survived by his sister, Roslyn Eggleston, and his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, two sister-in-laws, and two loving cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and William Pederson.
Arrangements – A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Greg’s honor to any charitable organization that means something to you.
