Gregory Augustine Klimaszewski, age 59, of Cheshire, passed away on August 24, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a short illness. Gregory was born on June 11, 1963, in Waterbury to Norine Klimaszewski and the late Chester Klimaszewski, and has been a Cheshire resident for most of his life.

Gregory was a graduate of Cheshire High School, Class of 1981 and continued his education at Southern CT State University. In 1987, Greg interrupted his schooling to serve his country in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1990, but reenlisted three months later to serve foreign time during the Gulf War. He then furthered his studies at University of Bridgeport and Quinnipiac Law.

Greg was an attorney at law at Foran and Klimaszewski in Southington. He used his profession as an attorney to be a pro-bono advocate for others in need. He was additionally the owner and operator of Augustine Builders Millennium Electrical and Electronics, LLC. Greg was also a member of Southington local government on the water board.

Gregory leaves behind his mother, Norine of Cheshire; siblings, Veronica Puleo of Bethany, Geraldine (Ralph) Napp of Waterbury, Theresa Roberge of Cheshire, Michael (Jennifer) Klimaszewski of Wallingford, Anne (Joseph) Trentacoste of Weston, FL, Margaret Gray of Wallingford, Justina (Victor) D’Amato of Cheshire, and Colette (Joseph) Cherneskie of Cheshire. He is also survived by his cherished 32 nieces and nephews, and 24 great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Chester; brother, John Klimaszewski; and brothers-in-law, Michael Roberge and James Puleo.

Friends may greet his family on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 8AM to 10AM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire, CT. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Rd., Cheshire, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul, Mission to Waterbury, P.O.
