Grace E. Sciortino

Grace E. (Noragong) Sciortino, age 82, of Prospect entered into rest on Monday, January 22, 2024 at VITAS at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury.  She was the devoted wife of John Sciortino for over 40 years.  Grace was born on February 7, 1941 in Waterbury, daughter of the late William and Beata (Meyer) Noragong.

Grace was a Naugatuck resident for most of her life, attending local schools and graduating from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1959.   She worked for many years as a foreman at Lewis Engineering before moving to Prospect in 1988 and dedicating her time to her family and numerous foster children.  In her spare time, Grace found joy in quilting and photography, she was an avid reader and spoiling her grandchildren was her favorite pastime.

In addition to her husband, John, Grace is survived by her beloved children, Alana DeFazio and her husband, Ron of Prospect; Christina Sciortino of Prospect; Raechel Sciortino of Naugatuck; Yvonne (John) Egenberger of Waterbury; and Devon (David Wilk) Newvine of Michigan.  She also leaves her 9 cherished grandchildren, Kyla, John, Skylar, Giselle, Paris, Jaxson, Mya, Logan and Tyler; and many loving nieces and nephews.  Grace was predeceased by all of her siblings.
