“Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather”

Naugatuck, CT Philip Giordani, Sr., 89, husband of Josephine (Costanzo) Giordani, died unexpectedly on August 25, 2022 at his home.

Philip was born February 18, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY son of the late Mariano and Santa Giordani and was raised in Brooklyn, NY. He retired in 1976 after serving for 20 years as a police officer with the NYPD. Philip was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and he was a faithful parishioner of St. Vincent Ferrer Church.

In addition to Josephine, his loving wife of 59 years, Philip is survived by his son, Philip Giordani, Jr., his daughter, Laura Macary and her husband, Matthew Macary; his grandchildren, Joseph Macary and Sara Macary. In addition to his parents, Philip was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Giordani and his sisters, Elsie Levanti and Josephine Grilli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30am at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Burial with military honors will follow in the CT Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. Calling hour is Thursday from 8:45am to 9:45am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble Thursday at 9:30am at the funeral home.
