Geraldine Helie

Geraldine (Sills) Helie, age 99, of Waterbury entered into rest on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Waterbury Gardens.  She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Helie Sr.  Geraldine was born on October 14, 1923 in Waterbury, daughter of the late George and Margaret Sills.

Geraldine was a lifelong Waterbury resident, attending local schools, and later settling in the same neighborhood, in which she was raised, with her husband and family. She enjoyed cooking and was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. Geraldine was active with the Altar Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Church and worked as a secretary for many years at her husband’s store, Watertown Auto Parts. 

She is the beloved mother of Robert Helie Jr. of Waterbury and David Helie and his wife, Mary of Ocala, FL.  Geraldine is survived by her sister, Elinor Sills of Waterbury; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Earl Sills and George L. Sills.
