Naugatuck - Gerald Comstock Platt Jr., 72, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Linda (Kennedy) Platt for 53 years.
Gerry was born February 4, 1949 to the late Gerald Comstock Platt Sr and Vilma Valorie May (Virgo) Platt. He descends from the Mayflower and one of the founding families of Milford, CT.
Gerry grew up on his family’s dairy farm, A J Platt and Sons Dairy in Milford, CT. He would help with farm work and deliver milk with his father. Gerry attended Milford Academy then enlisted in the US Navy proudly serving on a mine sweeper, the USS Rival. He was a retired diesel mechanic for Coastal Carriers.
Gerry was a talented artist and musician. He had an incredible work ethic and an even stronger fighting spirit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his wife, he leaves his daughters Laura Giroux and her husband James, Lisa Peil, Heather Platt; his sister Susan Crawford; his brother James Platt; step mother Kathryn Platt; his grandchildren Albert Platt,Jacob Giroux, Anthony Lantieri, Ava Yoder, and Bianca Lantieri.
Arrangements - Funeral services and committal with Military Honors will be held at the convenience of the family. The Alderson-Ford
