SOUTHBURY – George M. Leaman, 89, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Gertrude (Millette) Leaman.

Mr. Leaman was born February 18, 1931, in Waterbury, the son of the late George E. and Katherine C. (Scott) Leaman. He attended local schools and furthered his education at UCONN and the University of New Haven. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Leaman was a member of The American Legion Department of Connecticut Heritage Village Memorial Post 204. He was a longtime employee of S.N.E.T. as a mechanical civil engineer, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Temple Lodge No. 16 A.F. & A.M. in Cheshire, the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of New Haven and Lafayette Consistory, 32nd degree, Valley of Bridgeport; and Morocco Temple of the Shrine, Jacksonville, FL. He was also an avid gardner.

Besides his wife of over 60 years, Mr. Leaman is survived by his children Glenn Leaman and his wife Sharon of Cheshire, Kevin Leaman of Cheshire, and Kristen Reardon and her husband William of Shelton; his sister Joyce Gensler; his grandchildren Cody, Casey and Kailey Ann Leaman and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Leaman is predeceased by his sister Lois Gensler.

Arrangements - A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to The Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, (formerly known as the Lahey Clinic), 41 Mall Road, Burlington, MA 01805.
