George Casner Sr.

Cheshire - George Casner Sr., 83, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the Husband of Erma (McGillan) Casner.

Mr. Casner was born December 11, 1937, in Southington, the son of the late Edson and Mary (Beirne) Casner. He was a lifelong Cheshire resident where he owned and operated G.C. Electric.

Besides his wife of over 60 years, Mr. Casner is survived by his children, Kimberly Carter, Sherri Gracia and her husband Mark, George Casner Jr. and his wife Sandra, Karen Caldwell and Robert Casner and his wife Christine, his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Robert, Bryan, Chelsey, Brittney, Mark Jr., George III, Rebecca, Michael, Courtney, Katie, Ryan and Eleanor; and his sister Katherine. He is predeceased by his siblings Jack, Robert, Edward, James, Dorothy, and Nancy. George adored his family and he always demonstrated the best kind of love and faith. His love awakened the soul, made us proud and helped us to always reach for more. His love planted the fire in our souls and brought peace to our minds and hearts. George’s love and faith were never ending. The roots of our family tree started with the undying love of two hearts, George and Erma. George and Erma gave us all roots and wings. We will forever be grateful for those incredible gifts.

Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Becket Church. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery Southington and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
