Donald T. Gallucci
Army Air Corps veteran, Naugatuck native
PHOENIX – Donald Thomas Gallucci died Dec. 5, 2022, in Phoenix, Ariz.
He was born in Naugatuck, Conn., son of the late Thomas and Anna (Scarano) Gallucci. Mr. Gallucci was a graduate of Salem and Naugatuck High School and Central Connecticut State University. He taught at Prospect Street School and at Hillside Middle School, retiring in 1986 after 32 years.
Mr. Gallucci moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1994. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a deacon for the Archdiocese of Hartford, Conn., serving at St. Mary Church in Union City and St. Francis of Assisi in Naugatuck, Conn. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ojeda Council No. 33 while residing in Naugatuck, Conn.
Survivors include his son Joseph of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters Mary (Jerry Phillips) of Willimantic, Conn.; Meg (Michael Rotondi) of New York City; and Carole of Phoenix, Ariz.; two nephews, Robert and Thomas Gallucci of Connecticut; one niece, Janet of Connecticut; and three grandchildren, Justine, Ellis and Pascal Phillips-Gallucci.
Mr. Gallucci was predeceased by his beloved wife Charlotte, and by two brothers and four sisters.
A visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 9 to 10 a.m., with a rosary prayed at 9:30 a.m., and funeral Mass at 10 a.m., all at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, Ariz. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service will be available online and can be viewed at sfxphx.org.

A graveside service with military honors will be at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck, Conn., on Friday, Dec. 16, at 11:30 a.m. Services in Connecticut are entrusted to Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home.
