Frederick Stein

CHESHIRE- Frederick Stein, 83, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at his home in Cheshire CT. surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marcia (Hiken) Stein.

Mr. Stein was born October 13, 1940 in Waterbury, son of the late Morris and Dorothy (Krinsky) Stein. He earned a BA at Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He worked at Torrington Supply (Torrco), a plumbing and heating supply business started by his grandfather in 1917 and was President for many years. He was active in the community, volunteering at Literacy Volunteers of Waterbury and for Score. He was also on the board of the Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Western Connecticut.

in addition to his devoted wife of 31 years, Fred leaves behind his son David (Kristi) Stein, his daughter Julie (Jack) Baker, his stepdaughter Ilene Stone Burke, his stepson Michael (Jaimie) Stone, his brother Stephen (Emily Fine) Stein, and his sister Nancy (Joel) Becker. He will be missed by his grandchildren Daniel Stein, Hannah Stone, Anika Stein, Alexa Burke, Sophie Baker and William Baker. 

Arrangements: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 1:00 P.M., at Temple Beth David Synagogue, 3 Main Street, Cheshire. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery.
