Frederick F. Savenelli, Jr., 73, beloved husband of Angela Savenelli, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 24, 2024. He was born on March 28, 1951 in New Haven, CT, to Frederick and Carmela Savenelli.
Fred graduated Wilbur Cross High School and went on to attend the University of New Haven, where he obtained his bachelors degree. After being in the business realm for 20 years, he changed career paths and pursued an Art Therapy Degree from Albertus Magnus College. Fred was passionate about his work as a mental health advocate for children and adolescents. He worked for the Hospital of St. Raphael for 10 years and then joined The Family Study Center in Danbury, where he remained as a therapist for over 20 years. He also was a substance abuse counselor and taught art therapy at Albertus Magnus.
Fred was a faithful parishioner of St. Bridget Church, teaching catechism and being involved in the Men’s Club. He loved music, learning to play several instruments in his younger years. He also enjoyed a good round of golf.
Fred is survived by his wife, Angela Savenelli; daughter Corrine Asbel and her husband Stuart; son, Michael Savenelli; brother, James Savenelli; sisters-in-law, Cecelia (Louis) Belenardo and Elizabeth (Lawrence Jeffrey) Larson; two nieces; and two nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Carmela Savenelli; sister-in-law, Kathleen Savenelli; and his beloved dog, Sabrina.
Memorial contributions may be made online to All Corners Farm or a check made out to All Corners Farm, Inc.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire, CT. Please meet directly at church. Committal prayers will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave, North Haven, CT.
