Obituary

Francis “Stosh” Cienki, 52 of Cheshire, beloved husband of 28 years of Kelly Clark Cienki, passed away on October 20th, 2026. Stosh was born December 19th, 1973, in Rapid City, South Dakota to Michael Cienki and Cheryl Meister. Stosh graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph Missouri. He attended Missou, MWSU, and graduated from Connecticut School of Broadcasting.

He was an avid lover of all things sports. He loved bowling and had especially loved following the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Braves, and the Missouri Tigers. Stosh took pride in many things, one of which being his four perfect 300 score bowling games. But more than anything in the world, Stosh held the most pride in the life he built with his wife. Being able to call himself the father to his five wonderful children, Francis, Michael, Noah, Luke, and Caitlin. He worked for WSUB Radio, the Norwich Navigators, until he landed his dream job at ESPN Radio where he worked for 26 years until his passing.

Stosh always had the biggest and brightest smiles and complemented them well with his great and unwavering heart. He always lit up the room with his witty humor and provided great comfort to those who needed it with a big warm hug.

And he had the pleasure to share this with the love of his life, when they were wed on May 30th, 1998. And together they watched their family grow.

In addition to his wife, Kelly, Stosh leaves behind his children Francis, Michael, Noah, Luke, and Caitlin; along with their significant others, Josh, Brady and Anne Marie. He also leaves his sister, Lauren and her husband Matt; his nephews and nieces, Kyler, Brycen, Lorena, Jordyn, Layney, and Riddick; his grandnephews and niece, Atlas, Bodhi, and Rowyn, and many more of his friends and family. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Francis Cienki; grandparents, John and Betty Miester; his parents-in-law, Doug and Elizabeth Clark; and his uncles, John and Jimmy Ray Miester.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, October 27th, 2026 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 28th, 2026 at 10 am at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St., Waterbury, CT.
