Frances L. Nyberg

Cheshire - Mrs. Frances (Crocco) Nyberg, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023. 

Fran was born in Waterbury on September 1, 1933, the daughter of Nicolo James Crocco and Alfonsina Josephine (Caprio) Crocco. Frances was the youngest in a family of 7 children. Frances was the widow of Frank Nyberg.

Fran was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and St. Mary’s Nursing school in Waterbury. Upon graduating Fran was a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. Prior to retirement Fran became a private duty nurse.

Fran was a communicant of the Church of Epiphany and lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; visiting and spending time with her family and friends. Frances cherished her over sixty-year friendship with her best friend, Barbara Welton of Cheshire.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Nyberg (Jennifer Kurtz) of Cheshire, Paul Nyberg (Pernilla) of Sarasota Florida, and Mark Nyberg (Mary Ellen) of Wrentham Massachusetts; her daughter Lisa Sutherland of Cheshire; her grandchildren Christian Nyberg, Amanda Nyberg, Brian Sutherland, Michael Sutherland, Steven Sutherland, Bridget Reeves, Renee Bandurski, Kaley Collier, Melissa Mearn; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings and son-in-law Barry Sutherland.
