Manuel Fonseca

NAUGATUCK - Mr. Manuel Dos Santos Fonseca, 86, Husband of Ascencao (Taveres) Fonseca, passed away on May 27, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Fonseca was born August 5, 1932 in Pardilho, Portugal, a son of the late Manuel and Belmira (Ferreira) Fonseca. Prior to his retirement he worked in construction. He was a former member of Clube Uniao Portuguesa of Naugatuck, an avid fisherman and he loved soccer.

In addition to his wife Ascencao, Mr. Fonseca is survived by his three sons, Joaquim and his wife Thresa Fonseca, Agostinho and his wife Robin Fonseca, Joao and his wife Denise M. Fonseca; his seven Grandchildren; several great grand children; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fonseca was predeceased by his three brothers, Antonio Fonseca, Jose Fonseca and Joaquim Fonseca; his three sisters, Teresa Aresta, Ilda Fonseca and Emelia Madaleno,

A funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be from 10:00 to 11: AM that day. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
