Waterbury, CT Viola Fernandes, 90, died peacefully August 17, 2021 at Cheshire House.

Viola was born on May 9, 1931 and she formerly worked as a clerk at the Meriden Public Library. Viola had been living at Cheshire House since February 2021 and prior to that she lived at Wolcott View Manor. When Viola lived in her own home, she enjoyed the company of her dog Lily and her cats Molly and Max.

Viola is survived by several nieces and nephews and by her conservator, Atty. Carla Perugini-Erickson of Prospect. Viola was predeceased by her step-brothers, Joseph Cotrona and Frank Cotrona and her step-sister, Nancy Maskaitis.

A Graveside Service will be Friday at 10:00am at Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Everyone attending is kindly asked to meet directly at the cemetery. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
