Elsbeth W. Eichelman

WALLINGFORD - Elsbeth (Beth) W. Eichelman, 96, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Ashlar Village in Wallingford. Beth was the wife of the late George H. Eichelman, Jr.

Born May 13, 1926, in Ansonia, daughter of the late Charles A. and Alice M. (Watson) Spargo. She was a retired secretary for the Cheshire Public School system and  also worked at Cheshire Academy.

Beth loved her family and friends.  She also loved holding babies, volunteering for the Ladies Aid Society of Cheshire’s First Congregational Church, of which she was a member, being at the family cottage at Merwin Beach, and cooking food to share with others.  Her pies always were second to none. 

Beth is survived by her children Diane Eichelman, and her husband Paul Schaefer, of Durham, Ct., Dale Eichelman, and his wife, Carolyn, of Long Beach, IN. and Janet Hanscom of Rocky Hill; her five grandchildren, Stephanie and Marissa Blackburn, Blake Hanscom, and Emma and Sara Eichelman. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Eichelman was predeceased by her grandson, Keith Hanscom.

Arrangements – Private funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire. There are no calling hours and the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main Street is assisting with arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to Connecticut Foodshare.
