Elfreda "Elly" McMahon

Mrs. Elfreda “Elly” (Maglio) McMahon, 95 of Waterbury formerly of New Milford, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday November 14, 2022 at the Village at East Farms. She was the wife of the late William “Bill” McMahon with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Providence, RI on October 9, 1927, she was one of seven children to the late Avelino and Elfreda (Levesque) Maglio. Elly lived and raised her family in New Milford where she was also the local Avon Lady. After her husband Bill passed away in 2016, Elly lived at the Village at East Farms where she enjoyed new friends, activities and had a smile and hello for everyone. Elly, a loving wife, and mother, will be remembered as a happy soul, always positive, selfless, and generous.

Elly is survived by her daughters, Maureen (Michael) Otto, Susan (Richard) Jolliffe and Christine (Edward) Lucas and her 2 grandchildren Brennan Jolliffe and Alexandra Lucas.

The family would like to thank the people who cared for Elly during her final time at the Harbor, including, Vitas Hospice nurse Alison, Chaplain Michael, and the staff at the Harbor.
