Eileen Schindewolf

CHESHIRE- Eileen Schindewolf, 84, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Elim Park. For over 60 wonderful years, she was the wife of John Schindewolf.

Eileen was born June 19,1939, in Ephrata, PA, daughter of the late John and Lillie (Hertzog) Sweigart.

In addition to her husband, Eileen leaves behind her son, Marc Schindewolf, her daughter, Karin Arai, and her brother, Harold Sweigart. She will also be missed by her grandsons, Evan Schindewolf, Quentin Arai, and Parker Arai.

Throughout her life, Eileen enjoyed caring for others and her college degree in education was the perfect match. In her career and personal life, she helped nurture and develop individuals including her students, children, and grandchildren. She also developed a variety of educational programs throughout the years. Eileen’s talents gave her the ability to easily work with anyone, whether they were the first-grade students from her first job, the seniors she guided as a part of the Wilton CT Garden Club or those with special needs she taught later in her career, in Fishkill NY and Brookfield CT.

Outside of her career, Eileen’s hobbies included gardening, flower arranging and needle point. She enjoyed creating special designs for family and friends, which commemorated interests or events in their lives.

Many admire and are thankful for all that Eileen did for those whose lives she touched.

Arrangements: Private service and burial will be held at the convenience of her family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions, in her name, may be made to the Cheshire Food Pantry.
