NAUGATUCK- Dorothy Ouellette, 78, passed away May 9, 2015 at the VITAS unit at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Ouellette.

She was born April 3, 1937 in Waterbury daughter of the late Ernest Shappy and Mary (Ercoli) Yenzel. She served her country in the U.S. Air Force.

Dorothy was an Administrative Assistant for the State of Connecticut prior to her retirement. She will always be known for being a loving mother and sister, and a giving person. Dorothy was a devote catholic, and loved cooking Sunday dinner for her family.

She is survived by two sons Kenneth and Jeffrey Ouellette of Naugatuck; a daughter Staci and her husband Eugene Osborne of Naugatuck; her brothers and sister Diana O’Neil of California, Ernest Shappy Jr. and his fiancé Natalie Santoro of Waterbury, Ambrose Joseph Shappy of Wolcott, Francis Shappy of Naugatuck, Bobby and his wife Betty Shappy of New York, Tony and his wife Maureen Shappy of Waterbury, Richard and his wife Helen Famiglietti of Waterbury; two grandchildren Kelly Ouellette, and Joseph Bell; and her loving dog Tova. She was predeceased by her brother Leonard Famiglietti.

Arrangements- Mrs. Ouellette’s funeral will be held 10:15 AM May 12, 2015 from The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street, to St. Francis Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, 06770 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, East Main Street, Waterbury. Calling hours will be held the morning of the funeral from 9:30 AM until the precession leaves for church at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
