NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Doris E. (Johnson)(Anderson) Rasmussen, 93, formerly of Birch Lane, died Christmas Day, Dec. 25th, 2008 at Cheshire House in Waterbury. She was the widow of Paul F. Anderson and Wesley A. Rasmussen.

Mrs. Rasmussen was born in Naugatuck, Mar. 10, 1915, the youngest of seven children of Theodore and Elizabeth (Persson) Johnson and was a lifelong Naugatuck resident. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and Stone Business College in New Haven. She retired in 1979 from the Naugatuck Savings and Loan Co. where she was an Assistant Secretary of the Corporation. She was a lifelong member of the Hillside Covenant Church, having served in many capacities there, especially in hospitality.

She leaves a son Ronald P. Anderson and his companion Lori Fenn of Naugatuck, a niece, Ann Elise Lindgren of Naugatuck, and several other nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her six brothers and sisters, Paul Johnson, Stanley Johnson, Clifford Johnson, Roy Johnson, Lillian Nelson and Mildred Erickson.

She was a gracious, loving person who cared deeply for her family and friends. In her younger years, she loved to camp and travel with her husband Paul and enjoyed listening to music with her husband Wesley. The family would like to thank the staff of Cheshire House for their wonderful care provided for Doris during her stay there.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Jan. 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Hillside Covenant Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hillside Covenant Church, 100 Hillside Ave., Naugatuck, 06770.
