Naugatuck – Doris L. Carroll, 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Doris was born on December 7, 1951, to the late Theodore Lewis and Doris E. (Walker) Lewis in Scranton, PA.

Doris was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, before earning an associate’s degree in business from Lackawanna Junior College, and a bachelor’s of science degree from Marywood College, majoring in accounting, where she was recognized as a Scholastic All-American. In the summer of 1988, Doris and her four boys relocated to Naugatuck as she began her distinguished career at IBM in Southbury. Doris was a beloved member of the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, where she held many roles over the years. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and game nights with her friends, and she will be remembered as a kind and welcoming soul.

Surviving are four sons, John, and wife Heidi, Scott and wife Dawn (Anderson), Mike and wife Jill, Steve and wife Kim; grandchildren Alexandra Nash, Lindsey Scurrah, Justin Carroll, Bethany Carroll, McKenna Carroll and Thomas (TJ) Carroll; a great-grandchild expected this spring; a brother, Ted Lewis and wife Mary Lewis; two sisters, Cheryl Cosgrove, Jeanette Walsh and husband Patrick Walsh; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; her pet parakeets Milky Way and Cookie; and her cherished friends and neighbors.

A celebration of life ceremony will be scheduled this spring at the Congregational Church of Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, 9 Division Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770 – www.congonaug.org.
