David Richard Coutts

David Richard Coutts, age 77 of Cheshire, entered into rest on Monday, March 16, 2026. He was the devoted husband of Judith Raccio Coutts for over 54 years. David was born on December 11, 1948 in New Haven, son of the late Donald and Evelyn (Hannigan) Coutts.

David was raised in Hamden, where he attended local schools and graduated from Hamden High School, proudly playing on the hockey team. His love for skating remained a lifelong passion, one he continued to enjoy as recently as this past Christmas with his daughter, Alyson, his son Alex and his daughter-in-law, Catherine.

David earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Haven and built a successful career, serving as Chief Financial Officer for the Claremont Corporation. He took great pride in gardening and in caring for his home, finding joy in the simple pleasures of maintaining a beautiful space for his family. He and his beloved wife, Judi, enjoyed exploring much of Europe together on several cruises and returning often to their favorite destinations in Italy. He also had a deep passion for music which continues on through his children, who enjoyed attending many concerts with him over the years.

David also leaves his siblings, Robert Coutts, and Susan Hanley; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Jack Coutts and sister, Nancy Katz.

Funeral services for David will be private and at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with his care. To leave online condolences for his family, please visit www.fordfh.com
