Daniel David Labrecque

Snow Camp, NC   Daniel David Labrecque, 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday evening, October 5th, 2025, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC. Dan courageously battled Esophageal Cancer and was determined to find a way to beat it. According to his Oncologist, he was an incredibly strong patient throughout the entire process and said Dan’s strength was an inspiration.

Dan was born on July 26th, 1955, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Robert J. and Jeannine A. Labrecque. He graduated from Naugatuck High School and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps beginning in 1975, where he enlisted as a Field Wireman. During his tour in Okinawa, he formed a friendship with his future brother-in-law, Daniel McCorkle, through whom he met his first wife, Connie. Dan and Connie were married on May 13th, 1978, in Des Moines, Washington, and lived in California following his honorable discharge from Camp Pendleton.

Dan worked as a distribution driver for Ralph’s Grocery before relocating to Connecticut after the unexpected passing of his father. There, he joined many family members, in working for Uniroyal Chemical in Naugatuck, as a finishing technician and plant fireman. Following the plant’s closure, he returned to truck driving as a distributor, a job with which he was familiar.

After the passing of his beloved wife Connie, Dan moved to North Carolina, after finding friendship with Paula Sauer of Snow Camp, they were married on November 16th, 2008, at Harvest Hills Church of God. Dan was most recently employed by Apollo Chemical in Burlington, NC, where he managed warehouse distributions and was affectionately known as "Mario." His coworkers and friends admired his positive attitude, strong work ethic, and comedic sense of humor — qualities he maintained even during his courageous battle with cancer.

Dan will be remembered for his dedication to family, his infectious laughter, his passion for cooking, his love for animals, his adventurous spirit and his cheesy signature jokes that never failed to bring a smile. Whether cheering on family at football games, sharing a laugh, or lending a helping hand, he brought warmth and joy wherever he went. He enjoyed going to flea markets to find treasures, traveling to Vermont to visit family friends, and watching the New England Patriots win Super Bowls.

Dan was predeceased by his first wife, Connie M. Labrecque; parents, Robert J. and Jeannine A. Labrecque; brother-in-law, Dan McCorkle; sister-in-law, Nancy M. Labrecque and cousin James A. Cole. He is now reunited with them and many loving aunts and uncles who await him in heaven.

He is survived by his children, Justin Labrecque (Stephanie) and Jennifer Ethier (Chris); his grandchildren: Sean, Ayden, and Carly Kane, and Conner Labrecque; his brother, Mark Labrecque (Brenda); his sister, Anita Finkle (Frank); his mother-in-law Carol McFarlane, his brother-in-law Stacy McCorkle (Shea); his sister in law, Joanne Faulkner (Scott) and other loving family members and friends. He was also a proud uncle to Aaron and Travis Labrecque, and Joseph, Paul, and Douglas Finkle.

Dan is additionally survived by his loving wife, Paula S. Labrecque; his in-laws, Greg and Josephine F. Johnson; stepsons, Ronald and David Easter, Daniel Sauer; and stepdaughter, Nicole Tilson, along with 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who will all miss his love and guidance.

Dan’s legacy is one of service, strength, and unconditional love — a man who faced life’s joys and trials with courage and humility — He will forever be in our hearts.
