Crystal L. Poole

Naugatuck / Gales Ferry, CT — Crystal Lorraine Poole, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at William W. Backus Hospital due to medical conditions beyond her control.

Crystal was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, where she proudly performed in the marching band and choir, she studied marine biology in college, and she later served in the United States Navy. She stayed deeply involved in her community, especially in events supporting the Naugatuck swim teams, soccer leagues, scouts, and veterans memorial events, including the Waterbury Memorial Day Parade.

Crystal was spirited, sassy, and full of life. Her children were the center of her world, and she loved them fiercely. She loved animals, especially her pets, whether it was her 3 cats, her goats, fish, scorpion, or reptiles. She found peace in nature and had a deep love for music and photography. She was rarely without a song playing, a camera nearby, or photos all around her.

For more than 24 years, Crystal worked at Prime Alpha Broder as a Process Engineer, where she built lasting friendships and truly valued her work family. She was known for her warmth, energy, and the way she could light up a room just by being in it.

Crystal is survived by her children, Justin Scully, Julianna Scully, and Sebastian Scully, Nathan Zawadka; her mother, Margiavanessa Acosta; her stepfather, Luis Anibal Acosta; her brother, Alex Poole; the love of her life, Jason Swett; and her soul sisters, Ricki Lake and Kelly Zimmermann. She was predeceased by her brother, David Poole, and her father, Lawrence Poole.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 26, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Alderson-Ford & Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, CT 06770. Burial at Grove Cemetery in Naugatuck will be held at the convenience of the family.

Crystal’s memory will live on in the music she loved, the photographs she captured, and the love and laughter she brought to so many.
