Charlotte Hanning Bristol, 88, of Cheshire, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Marbridge Retirement Center in Cheshir,e CT. She was the devoted and loving wife of Hamilton Russell Bristol Jr. for over 62 years. Charlotte was born on May 29, 1937, Daughter of the late Bernard Hanning and Genevieve (Friday) Hanning.

Charlotte and her family lived in Bethany for many years before coming to Cheshire in 1999. She was a graduate of Western Illinois University and furthered her education at Southern Connecticut State College in New Haven, CT where she received her Master’s Degree. Charlotte spent 26 years as a business teacher at Naugatuck High School and then moved onto a career working in the office of Calcagni Associates Real Estate in Cheshire. Charlotte was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A loving woman who was the picture of elegance, Charlotte also had a great sense of humor and a thoughtful nature. She cherished her grandchildren and spent countless hours caring for and entertaining them. A meticulous homemaker, Charlotte also enjoyed time with family, wonderful friends, long walks, knitting, and was an avid reader.

Charlotte is survived by her loving children, Melanie Bristol Ricci and her husband, John of Cheshire, and Peter Bristol of Punta Gorda, FL. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Brittany Bailey Seborowski and her husband AJ; Kelsy Sandlin and her husband, David; Peter Bristol, and Hunter Williams; her great-grandchildren, Parker and Tate Seborowski; Lilith Sandlin; her brother Gerald Hanning and his wife Susie, her brother Robert Hanning and his wife Cindy; her sisters-in law Beverly Thomas, and MaryLou Bristol, and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Shirley Vail and her husband was Richard; her brothers Ronald Hanning and his wife is Judy, and Roger Hanning.

There will be a family celebration of life at a later date, and the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting her family with the arrangements.
