Charles E. “Chuck” Likens, aged 91, of Beacon Falls, Conn. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.  He was the devoted husband of Helen G. (Simmons) Likens for 67 years.  Charles was born on January 21, 1931 in Ridgeley, West Virginia, son of the late William and Margarite (Cullum) Likens.

He is the beloved father of Charles W. Likens and his wife, Karen of Milford, OH; Eric M. Likens of New Britain; Bruce Likens of Beacon Falls; and Amy Likens Ellis of Naugatuck.  Chuck leaves his loving grandchildren Amy Likens of Madison; Daniel Ellis (Jennifer) of Fort Bragg, CA; Kayla Phelps (Kyle) of Fairfield, OH; Benjamin Ellis (Kara) of NY, NY and Marissa Ellis Fusco (Luigi) of Cheshire; and his 9 cherished great-grandchildren (with one more on the way!), and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his five siblings.

Chuck served his country with honor and pride in the U.S. Army from 1948 until 1953.  When returning home, he was introduced to his soon-to-be bride, Helen. Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed, having HVAC/maintenance contracts with the federal government. His passion was following the UCONN Women’s basketball program, and he loved spending time with his family.

Services for Chuck will be private and at the convenience of his family.  Memorial contributions may be made in his name to either the Adult Emergency Dept.
