Catherine "Kate" Latorre

Catherine (Pellegrino) “Kate” Latorre, age 62, of Cheshire passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. Kate was born on June 22, 1962 in New Haven, daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy (Costello) Pellegrino.

Her warm smile and affection greeted many at the Cheshire Stop & Shop and McDonalds for years, and she was well known and liked in the Cheshire community. Kate recently became a grandmother, the proudest moment of her life, the bond between her and her grandson, Christian was instant. She was a devout Catholic and attended Masses regularly at the St. Bridget of Sweden Parish; and was a lover of all animals, especially her dog, Gracie, and her cat, Muffin. 

She is the beloved mother of Juan Latorre of Meriden and Louis (Amanda) Latorre of Cheshire. Kate is also survived by her cherished grandson, Christian Latorre; loving siblings Joanne LaGuardia of FL; Susan Pellegrino of Cheshire; and Joseph Pellegrino PhD and his wife, Barbara Pellegrino PhD of Woodbridge, VA; her nieces and nephews, Stephen (Virginia) LaGuardia MD and Heather LaGuardia MD and Mikhail Pellegrino and Gabriella Pellegrino; and her great-niece and great-nephew, Gabe and Genevieve LaGuardia. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Pellegrino II and sister, Mary Lou Pellegrino.

Friends may greet her family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 8:30AM until 10:15AM. Her funeral procession will leave at 10:30AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-ST. THOMAS BECKET CHURCH, 435 N. Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven.
