Carolyn "Carol" Ann Kelsey-Sudol

CHESHIRE - Carolyn Ann (Weil) Kelsey-Sudol, 70, passed away August 26, 2022. Carol was born December 10, 1951, in Hartford, CT, to Irma and Luitpold Weil. The daughter of Jewish-German immigrants, she grew up in Cheshire when it was filled with farms and dirt roads. Her first job was at Sunny Acre Farms, where she transplanted flowers and veggies.

Carol leaves behind her children, Tamara (Kelsey) and Jeffry Houser, Jennifer (Sudol) and Bryan Kazdan as well as two awesome grandchildren, Ethan and Owen Kazdan. She was predeceased by her brother, Marvin Weil, and his wife, Marilyn (Lashin). She will be missed by her nephew Jacob Weil as well as extended family such as her cousins Elayne and Ernie, in-laws Peggy and Mike, Ken Kelsey, and John Sudol. In addition, family friends Rachel and Tom, Amy, Kate, and her long-time friends Pat, Marion, Nancy, Carol, Bonnie, Betsy, and Elvis Presley will miss the great conversations, fun outings, and interesting adventures.

Carol graduated from Cheshire High School in 1969 and insisted she was not a hippie, although her record collection and wedding photos claim otherwise. She became a nurse after graduating from the Meriden-Wallingford Hospital’s Nursing School in 1972. Her work to help others in need kept her local, including Brook Hollow, Clintonville Manor, MARC, COCO, and several other agencies over a span of 20+ years. Later in life, she returned to school to become a massage therapist after graduating from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington and was a Young Living distributor of essential oils.

Volunteer work kept Carol busy upon retirement, including the Cheshire Kiwanis, where she helped at the Colonial Breakfast and fried Oreos at the Kiwanis Carnival. Her hobbies included coin collecting, bidding the 2nd highest bid on eBay, and watching the Golden Girls. Her favorite memories were a hot air balloon ride, Disney trips, Vermont excursions, a New Hampshire train ride, and listening to the waves on the shores of Ogunquit, Maine. In lieu of flowers, which made her sneeze, donations may be made to the American Red Cross. All medical questions you wish you had asked Carol may be answered with “put some lavender on it”.
