Betty Jane Mraz

OXFORD – Betty Jane (Pryor) Mraz, 97 of Oxford, formerly of Waterbury, passed away Tuesday September 14, 2021 at the River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury. She was the wife of the late John E. Mraz and her first husband the late Andrew P. Lynch.

Betty was born August 4, 1924 in Waterbury a daughter of the late George and Ella Olive (Davis) Pryor and was a longtime Waterbury resident. She attended Waterbury schools and had been employed at Scovill Manufacturing as a clerk retiring after many years of service. Betty was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Waterbury.

She leaves her son, Gary A. Lynch and his wife Dawn of Oxford, her grandson, Andrew Lynch, her step grandchildren, Alyssa Haigh and Trevor Haigh and many nieces and nephews, including, Sandra Reynolds, Karen Randall, Paul Thomas and Kevin Pryor. Betty was predeceased by her brother Robert Pryor and her sisters Ruth Pryor and Fredericka Thomas and her niece Gayle Thomas.

Funeral services for Betty will be celebrated on Saturday September 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. John’s Episcopal Church 16 Church Street in Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury 496 Chase Avenue has care of arrangements.
