Bette E. Ollero

Naugatuck, CT Bette E. (Gay) Ollero, 73, the widow of Raymond F. Ollero, died peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Complete Care at Meriden after a brief illness.

Bette was born on April 13, 1952 in South Kingstown, RI the daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Mary E. (Palmisano) Gay and had lived in Naugatuck all of her life. Bette attended local schools and graduated from Naugatuck High School and Post College. Bette worked her entire career as a claims representative for The Hartford Insurance Company, retiring 10 years ago. Bette was a loving and caring person and she will be remembered as a loving mother and “Nay Nay” to her grandchildren. In her retirement, Bette enjoyed scrap booking, reading, crosswords, watching her soap operas and she especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Bette is survived by her son, Mark F. Ollero and his girlfriend, Ashley Dupont of Torrington, CT; her grandsons, Zachary and Connor Ollero; her brother and sister in law, Bruce Gay and Dorothy Gay of Long Island, NY; her brother in law and sister in law, John J. Ollero and Barbara Ollero of Waterbury, CT and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Bette’s life on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT. In lieu of flowers and to honor Bette’s memory, donations are requested to the Naugatuck Veterans Council, P.O. Box 226, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
