Lucille Baummer
“Loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother”
Naugatuck, CT Lucille (Harper) Baummer, 96, the widow of Linden Baummer, her husband of 70 years with whom she was inseparable, died peacefully on April 14, 2024 at Beacon Brook Health Care Center.
Lucille was born March 8, 1928 in Naugatuck, CT a daughter of the late Stephen and Bertha (Durette) Harper. She was a lifelong Naugatuck resident and in her earlier years worked as an inspector at Doo-Val Tool Company in Naugatuck. Later she was a homemaker and lovingly cared for her four granddaughters any chance she could get. It was common for those driving by the Baummer’s meticulously kept home to see “Gram” out playing with the kids. She always had an endless supply of ice cream and treats and most of all LOVE. She loved shopping with her daughter and making trips to the casino with her husband.
Lucille leaves her daughter, Diane Baummer; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Leslie Sporre, husband Ian and sons, Ryker and Kaven; Jennifer Genthe, son Trevor, daughter Ashtyn and Jennifer’s fiancée, Mario Longo; Kimberly Michael, husband Shannon and sons, Brayden and Riley; and Lyndsey Brenes, husband Rob and sons, JJ, Tyson, and Ethan and several nieces and nephews.
While small in stature Lucille had a big heart and personality and was someone who prioritized family. A little firecracker, so to speak, she was spunky, kind, sensitive, warm, genuine, and funny with a huge heart and will be missed by so many. We find peace in knowing that the love of her life, Linden, has welcomed her to heaven with open arms.
