Arthur Crooker

Arthur Crooker, 70, of Hardeeville, SC, formerly a 28 year resident of Cheshire, CT, passed away on June 2, 2024 in his beloved home in Margaritaville. He was born on January 22, 1954, in Meriden, CT, to the late Kenneth and Sarah Crooker.  Art married and spent 33 loving years with his best friend, Kathy (Kozak).

Art was an avid outdoorsman who loved to ski, fish, hunt and camp with his family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Meriden Rod & Gun Club until his move to South Carolina in 2020. While residing in Cheshire, he proudly served on the Public Building Commission and Cheshire Land Trust.

He retired from the Metropolitan District Commission in Hartford after 23 years as a Maintenance Mechanic in 2017 and prior to that worked at Pratt & Whitney as a Machinist for 10 years. Art was a graduate of Maloney High School.

Art always had a story to share around a campfire or the kitchen table. It was evident to all that Art was a worldly man and could contribute to almost any topic of conversation. He had an easy way of making everyone in his presence feel welcomed.

In addition to his wife, Art will also greatly be missed by his adoring daughters, Sarah Silverio and her husband Colin, of North Branford and Katelyn Crooker and her partner Tim Morales of Manchester, NH. He also leaves behind his siblings: brothers, Ken Crooker of Southington and Craig Crooker of Meriden; and his sisters, Phyllis Snow of New Britain and Carol Crooker of Henderson, NV. Also, his father-in-law, Chester Kozak of Wethersfield along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Art was predeceased by his sisters-in-law, Claudia Crooker and Karen Crooker along with his nephews Mark and Jay Mischke.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, CT.
