CHESHIRE – Arne Bernhard Solli, 75, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was husband of the late Kathleen (Mordente) Solli.
Mr. Solli was born October 22, 1946, in Kristiansand, Norway, son of the late Olav and Ruth (Ydestad) Solli. He was a retired marriage and family therapist and adjunct Professor of Psychology at SCSU. He worked in the field of mental health for over 35 years. After retirement he went to work with his son at Solli Engineering. Mr. Solli proudly served his country in the United States Army. Arne was very active in the Jaycees and JCI Senate and won several awards for his community service and leadership. He was a lover of music, loved to play the guitar for family and sang with the Cheshire Community Chorus for over 15 years. He was lovingly referred to by everyone as Pop Pop and was known for his hugs, storytelling, patience and kind demeanor.
Mr. Solli is survived by his son Kevin Solli, and his wife, Dana, of Monroe, his daughter, Kristina Veilleux, and her husband, Andre of Cheshire, and his sister, Anne Elise Wenzel of Los Angeles. He will also be deeply missed by his five grandchildren, Molli, Katie, Lyla, Ryan and Colby as well as 13 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.
Arrangements – Funeral services for Mr. Solli will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 9:30 AM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street.
