Anthony Arnold Strollo

Anthony Arnold Strollo, born June 16, 1939, in Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in New Haven, Connecticut.

Anthony was predeceased by his father, Philip Strollo and mother Marguerite (Nigro) Strollo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Anita (Ubaldi) Strollo and by his dearly loved children David (Martha Triplett), Donna (Paul Zentek), Bryan, Bridget (Timothy Michaels); his grandchildren Joseph and Benjamin Zentek, Hannah and Jacob Michaels, and Dante Strollo; his brothers Philip (Diana) and Arnold (Jan) and his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Anthony met his future bride at Wilby High School, where they graduated in 1957. Anthony served in the U.S Army Reserves from 1958 through 1964. He began his automotive repair career in 1958 with his father and uncles at Strollo Brothers & Sons, where he specialized in automatic transmission repair. Several years later, he and his cousins, Roger and Victor, established Cheshire Auto Body. In 1980, he founded Anthony Strollo Sons & Daughters, a general automotive repair and towing business. After his semi-retirement in 2000, he started a second career repairing Hobart Dough Mixers and other commercial kitchen equipment. He was sought-after and depended upon by restauranteurs throughout the state.

His love for international cuisine fostered lasting friendships with people of varied backgrounds and cultures. Anthony’s magnetic personality and kind-heartedness touched everyone he met. His dedication to his family and friends was unparalleled. He possessed a positive attitude and had a penchant for developing many varied skills. Anthony had an agile mind and kept abreast of new technologies. He loved to share his talents with others, cook for crowds, and listen to country music.

Anthony lived a long, remarkable life with energy and enthusiasm. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

Arrangements – Visitation for Mr. Strollo will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 4 to 8 pm as well as Thursday, June 19th, from 8 to 10 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery.
