Anthony "Tony" Popalardo

Naugatuck, CT Anthony “Tony” Popalardo, 85, husband of the late Susan (Kegel) Popalardo, died peacefully on May 31, 2025 at Beacon Brook Health Care Center.

Tony was born August 9, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Joseph and Frances (Zitto) Popalardo. Tony worked many years doing interior painting and wallpapering and he enjoyed freehand drawing and spending time with his family. Tony loved being in the sun and he had a tremendous love for animals.

Tony is survived by his children, Susan Donovan (Lynn); his sons, Anthony Poplardo and Michael Poplardo (Rita); his brothers, Peter Poplardo (Phyllis) and Joseph “Joe Joe” Poplardo; his sister, Linda Heath; his 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Tony’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Beacon Brook Health Care Center, where Tony was affectionately known to everyone there as “Pops” and “Poppy”, for the loving care that they provided to Tony and his family.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 3:00pm at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the funeral home.
