Alice B. Hanley

Middlebury - Alice B. Hanley, 89, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Complete Care Middlebury. She was the wife of Joseph T. Hanley Jr.

Mrs. Hanley was born on June 17, 1936, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late William and Rose (Brown) Corbett. She was a founding member of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish and worked for many years at Peter Paul.

Alice’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Complete Care Middlebury and Accent Care Hospice for their kindness and professionalism.

Besides her husband of 71 years, she is survived by her daughter Mary (Jack) Litke, and sons Joseph T. Hanley III, William (Patrice) Hanley, Kevin (Diane) Hanley, her sisters Mary (Andrew) Buccheri, Joan Veronneau, and brother-in-law Robert Hanley. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Corbett, and sisters Francis Smith and Peggy Escobales, Alice loved her friends and family immensely and cherished each of her nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren, their spouses, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:45 am at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave. At 10:45 am, Mrs. Hanley’s procession will leave the funeral home and proceed to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Committal will be held at the convenience of the family in St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Naugatuck Ecumenical Food Bank, 75 Spring St, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
