Cheshire - Marine Lance Corporal Alexander "Sasha" Kaklyugin, 22, passed away on March 25, 2026.
Sasha was born July 5, 2003, in New Haven, the son of Roman Kaklyugin and Yelena Dobrushkina. He graduated from Cheshire High School Class of 2021 and had worked as a Porsche Mechanic at M Sport Motorwerx.
Sasha proudly served in the US Marine Corps for 4 years as a heavy machinery operator. His path of military service began at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina in August 2021. In 2023, he was deployed to Alaska, Columbia, and Finland. He also served in Puerto Rico and Curacao during his tenure with the Marines. During his years of service, Sasha was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, multiple Letters of Appreciation, an Expert Rifle Qualification Badge, and an Expert Pistol Qualification Badge.
Sasha was passionate about all things mechanical and was a diehard enthusiast of Ford and Yamaha. There was nothing Sasha couldn't fix, always ready and willing to tackle new projects. He was an avid firearm and weapons connoisseur. Sasha had a deep love and compassion for all animals and strongly believed in rescuing and adoption. He was a very proud American with a deep love and respect for his Russian heritage, always dreaming of visiting Russia one day.
Sasha's heart was truly one of a kind - overflowing with love, compassion, and selflessness. He was the kindest soul, always there for anyone in need. His love was genuine, his generosity limitless, and his presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around him. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Sasha felt the warmth of his heart, the kindness he shared, and the rare gift of bringing light and laughter everywhere he went. He undoubtedly left an everlasting mark on the countless lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Sasha is survived by his brother Yuriy R. Kaklyugin; his grandmother Emma Dobrushkina; his aunt Irina Dobrushkin; his uncle Nikolay Dobrushkin; his cousins Yuliya Dobrushkin and Maksim Dobrushkin (wife Cherokee Dobrushkin and their children Allison Dobrushkin and Maksim Dobrushkin II).
In a bittersweet coincidence, Sasha was predeceased by his beloved adopted dog Diesel on the exact same date two years prior, March 25th, 2024.
