With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alberta "Bert" Hulteen, after a life well lived. She was a beloved mother, grandmother "nana", wife, and friend.
Born and raised in Kentucky, which led to the marriage of Mac Gibson. Mac's family adored Bert and welcomed her with open arms. Their life together was full of growth and exciting experiences, such as creating a family and living abroad. She approached being a mother with love, patience, encouragement, and unwavering commitment.
Her vibrant life included many chapters, passions, and achievements. From graduating from beauty school, interior design, painting, jewelry making, and an antique business with her best friend, Carol. She also worked sales in Cheshire and enjoyed the customers and never knowing what the day would bring. She will always be remembered by her southern charm and accent. She loved holiday family gatherings, exploring flea markets, and cruising to the shore and casino in her convertible. Bert always looked forward to her monthly dinners with the "Waverly" ladies.
Bert was truly blessed with the addition of Bill Hulteen and his family. Together they embraced all life had to offer.
She enjoyed watching UConn basketball, Boston Red Sox and the Patriots.
In the last chapter, she married her longtime friend, Bob O’Toole. They brought back joy to their lives with their dedication to each other. This was shared by celebrating every holiday, family vacation, and the milestones of life.
Alberta's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the healthcare professionals who assisted in the navigation of her journey.
She inspired all, by meeting her challenges with dignity, grace and appreciation.
Bert leaves behind a son, Chet Gibson; a daughter, Lisa Gibson-Ronalter; son in-law, Greg Ronalter; grandsons, Easton and Brent Ronalter; and step-daughter, Sharon O'Toole, and many wonderful memories.
You know our love will not fade away.
Funeral Services for Bert will be held at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with her care. To leave online condolences for her family, please visit www.fordfh.com
