Armindo Afonso Sr

Naugatuck-Armindo Afonso, 66, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Portugal with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Amelia (Carneiro)Afonso.

Mr. Afonso was born on November 11, 1947 in Portugal, a son of the late Carminda Pimenta . He was the owner and operator of AA & Son Concrete. He is a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury, and was a member of the Portuguese Club in Naugatuck.

Besides his wife Amelia he is survived by five daughters, Carminda Costa of Naugatck, Louisa Supranovich of Naugatuck, Lucy Carranza of Prospect, Ana Lage of Waterbury, and Linda St. John of Naugatuck, one son, Armindo Afonso Jr of Naugatuck., his sister, Albertina Portela of Naugatuck. He will also be missed by his eleven grandchildren, Kevin, Kayla, Allison, T.J., Michael Anthony, Amanda, Stephen, Branden, Jarrett, Breonna, and Michael Jon.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck on Monday evening from 5-8 p.m.
