Cheshire - Adele B. Kasinskas, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of the late Michael Kasinskas.
Dell was born March 15, 1944, in Derby, the daughter of the late Anthony and Blanche (Brazitis) Macknis of Ansonia.
She graduated from Ansonia High School, Saint Joseph University, and Southern Connecticut State University. In her early career, she taught high school French in Stratford and then Cheshire. After moving to Cheshire and starting a family, she changed careers to nursing and worked at Waterbury Hospital and Midstate Medical Center. In 2003, she was awarded the Nightingale Award. She combined her love of teaching and nursing for several years as a certified nursing assistant instructor.
She was a devout parishioner and member of the Women’s Group at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish and regularly attended the Our Lady of Calvary retreat house. She loved all crafts, but her favorite was Ukrainian pysanky egg decorating, which she called “egging”. She leaves behind many friends and family who marveled at her beloved gardens that became her passion in retirement.
Dell was always grateful for the caring staff at Yale New Haven Hospital.
She is survived by her son Mark Kasinskas, daughter-in-law Naomi Kasinskas, grandchildren Johanna (Brendan) Foley, Zoe Kasinskas, Phoenix Kasinskas, and Eva Kasinskas, and sisters Carol Macknis and Kathy Talley. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Michael Kasinskas, and her daughter, Joan Kasinskas.
