SOUTHBURY – William Conda, 86 passed away peacefully on June 15, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Conda, his wife of 43 years whom he will be reunited with after 28 years.

Bill was born August 23, 1927 in Waterbury the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Aagaard) Conda. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his discharge he worked in various different fields before establishing Bill Conda Pontiac, Fiat, GMC Truck which he sold in 1981. Upon the sale of the dealership Bill opened Bill Conda Realty in Waterbury where he remained active with until his time of passing. Throughout his career life he enjoyed and respected his cliental.

Bill was at his best and happiest when around and involved with his family. He kept up with his enjoyment of playing Poker with his close friends to the end. Bill was very involved in his community and charitable organizations which meant so much to him. He was a member and avid swimmer for more than fifty years at the Waterbury YMCA. Amongst Bill’s many accomplishments he was an active member of the Waterbury Rotary Club, the Waterbury Board of Realtors and Director of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Bill was a member of many different Masonic Bodies; Liberty-Continental Lodge #76 A.F. & A.M. the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Waterbury: serving as Sublime Prince of Doric Lodge of Perfection; Most Wise Master of Ionic Council-Princes of Jerusalem and Trice Potent Master of Corinthian Chapter- Rose Croix. The Lafayette Consistory, 32 Degree, Valley of Bridgeport. He was a member of Sphinx Shriners of Newington and a Member of the Director’s Staff. He was also a member of The Kaaban’s Shrine Club of Plymouth; a member of Dimaryp Court # 66, Royal Order of Jesters; the Nutmeg Billiken Club.

Bill is survived by his children Evelyn Beck of Ledyard, Sandra Conda of Southbury, William Conda Jr. and his wife Barbara of York, Maine, Cheryl Heller of Waterbury, and Bruce Conda of Woodbury; his 9 grandchildren and his 10 great grandchildren; his brother Andrew of FL; his sisters Irene Gross of Waterbury and Elizabeth Kelly of Shelton; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother George and his sisters Victoria, Dorothy and Marie.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 16 Church St. Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet at church. Burial will follow in Middlebury Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service being conducted by Liberty-Continental Lodge #76 A.F. & A.M. at 7:30 at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Hill Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
