Walter T. Hardisty, age 94, of Cheshire entered into rest on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the CT Hospice in Branford. He was the devoted husband of Eleanor (Baehr) Hardisty for over 64 years. Walt was born on January 17, 1926 in Stafford Springs, son of the late Walter and Ada (Howlett) Hardisty.

Walt grew up in Waterbury and Watertown before moving to Cheshire more than 50 years ago and was a parishioner of St. Thomas Becket Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He served his country with honor and pride with the US Army during WWII. Walt worked for several manufacturing companies as their purchasing agent, and will be remembered for his kind nature, sunny disposition and smile and his station wagon. He was an avid golf player and enjoyed Western movies.

Walter is the beloved father of Matthew Hardisty and his fiancée, Kim Daly of Prospect and Suzanne Kaiser and her husband, Michael of Northford. He also leaves his loving grandchildren, Shannon McKee, Matthew Hardisty, Jr., Michael Kaiser, Mackenzie Kaiser and Stephanie Hardisty; his cherished great-grandchildren, Shawn, Cayden and Piper McKee. He was predeceased by his son, Christopher Hardisty; his sister, Barbara Kantor and her husband, Michael.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 10AM in St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410. Full Military Honors will be held at the conclusion of Mass. Burial will be held at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, T 06405.
