NAUGATUCK - Viola G. Heavin, 85 passed away January 6, 2014 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Heavin was born on July 13, 1928 in Clinton Me., the daughter of the late William and Nora (Merrett) Sprague. She was a longtime resident of Naugatuck.
Mrs. Heavin is survived by her son Philip B. Heavin and his wife Patricia of Naugatuck; her three grandchildren Philip Jr., Brian and Jennifer as well as 4 great grandchildren; Adam, Cora, Hunter and Aaron.
Viola was a retiree of Timex Corp. of Middlebury. She also worked as a waitress and did catering part-time. She loved to keep busy. In her spare time she loved playing bingo and taking trips to the casino.
She was a hard working person as well as very generous, giving to charities often. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements - A service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2013 at Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Calling hours will be from 4 p. m. to 6 p. m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Maine. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, Ct. 06067.
