ORANGE - Stephen Sakonchick Sr. 95, of Orange passed away Saturday June 9, 2012 at the Southington Care Center. He was the husband for 66 years of M. Teresa (Wills) Sakonchick.
Mr. Sakonchick was born in West Haven on October 24, 1916 the son of the late Nickiffer and Martha (Krisofsky) Sakonchick, he was a longtime Orange resident. He honorably served in the Merchant Marines and the U. S. Navy during World War II.
In addition to his wife Teresa, he is survived by four sons, Stephen Sakonchick II and his wife Monica of Austin TX, James and his wife Carolyne of Cheshire, Donald and his wife Beth of Avon, John and his wife Francelia of East Hartford; his daughter Linda and her husband Harold of Cheshire. He was blessed with grandchildren whom he loved Chad, Bryn, Brian, Judy Beth, Kelli, Lindsey, John, Tracy, Odin, Samantha and Jordan and one great granddaughter Elena. He was pre-deceased by his granddaughter Victoria; his grandson Jared and his siblings Anna, John, Alec and Pauline.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Friday June 15, 2012, 10 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Burial will follow in Orange Center Cemetery and there are no calling hours.
