Mr. Stanley Francis Domorad, 88, formerly of 71 Osborn Rd., Naugatuck, died Tuesday Nov. 18, 2008 at the Beacon Brook Health Center. He was the husband of the late Joan (Steele) Domorad.
He was born in Naugatuck, Aug. 5, 1920, a son of the late Stanley A. and Anna (Fiske) Domorad and was educated in the local school system. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army, 1570th Military Police Unit. He lived in Middlebury for 20 years, returning to Naugatuck in 1980 He retired in 1968 from Blake and Johnson Co., where he had been Supervisor of the Tool setter's for over 30 years. He had also had worked for Emhardt Corp of Shelton for 4 years. He was a former member of the Prospect Grange and Federal Lodge # 17 A.F. & A.M. of Watertown.
He leaves one daughter, Kathy Gilotti of Woree, Carins, Queensland, Australia; and one sister Ceil Domorad of Naugatuck.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday Nov. 26th, 2008 at 10:30a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church , 338 North Main St., Union City. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church prior to the mass. Burial with full military honors will be held in Middlebury Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements.
