Shirley C. Jacobsen Bristol, age 91, of Cheshire entered into rest on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Elim Park Baptist Home. She is the devoted wife of Robert E. Bristol and was predeceased by her first loving husband, Frederik H. Jacobsen. Shirley was born on August 2, 1922, in Rockford, IL, daughter of the late Ralph and Myrtle Mayberry Cunningham.

Shirley enjoyed the simple things in life. She was a lover of music who could was always be heard singing.

She is the beloved mother of Bruce Jacobsen and his wife Pamela of Feeding Hills, MA; Wayne Jacobsen of San Antonio, TX; Lynne Monday and her husband Kenneth of Bradenton, FL and Joy Stone and her husband David of San Antonio, TX. Shirley also leaves 13 cherished grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her son Keith Jacobsen. Robert Bristol's children, Alan Bristol, Robin Feeney and Laurel Friedmann would like to express their gratefulness for the love and sense of fun Shirl brought to their father's life.

Shirley's Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 7PM at the Chapel of the Elim Park Baptist Home, 140 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire, CT 06410. There are no calling hours and her burial is private and at the convenience of her family. At the request of her family memorial contributions may be made to the Elim Park Resident's Benevolence Fund, 140 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire CT 06410. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So.
