Sherman Weisman

WATERBURY- Mr. Sherman Israel Weisman, 78, of 11 MacArthur Dr., Waterbury, died late Monday evening June 23, 2009 at the Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Sylvia (Stark) Weisman.

Mr. Weisman was born in Waterbury, Dec. 27, 1930, a son of the late Norman and Sarah (Shernet) Weisman and had been a city resident all of his life. He was a member of B'Nai Shalom Synagogue and had been active in the community as a financial investor and businessman for many years.

Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves two sons, Avraham "Alan" Weisman of Bloomfield and Atty.Yakov "Jeffrey" Weisman of New Haven; one daughter Shoshana Shir of Jerusalem, Israel; two brothers Atty. Joseph Weisman of Waterbury and Paul Weisman of Scottsdale, AZ and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday June 24, 2009 at 4pm at B'Nai Shalom Synagogue. Burial was in Hebrew Benefit Assoc. Cemetery, Stillson Rd., Waterbury. Shiva will be observed at his late residence Wednesday, Thursday, through Friday afternoon and Saturday evening through Tuesday evening with services at approximately 8:15 p.m. The Alderson Funeral home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
